To install a catch basin for drainage, you need to follow these steps:
    1. Dig a hole that covers the width of the top of the basin and depth of the catch basin you’re installing.
    2. Dig a gradually declining trench 8-inches wide and 18-inches deep from the catch basin to a safe place for the water to run; this is where you’ll be placing the piping.
    3. Prepare the weep holes by drilling several small holes into the bottom of the basin to prevent standing water from accumulating in the catch basin.
    4. Fill the excess 6-12 inches at the bottom of the trench with gravel.
    5. Attach the drain pipe to the outlet on the basin.
    6. Connect the rest of your piping.
    7. Test the drainage system by pouring water into the catch basin to ensure that it is working properly.
