Fargos Soul mod works well wl calamity, and so does thorium. You can also go Shadows of ABddon and OVerhaul. Also, Alchemist NPC is one of the best mods if you dont like fishing, farming and planting seeds. Basically adds an npc that sell you all potions when u reach certain points in games.

Spirit Mod + Calamity + Terratale (sans fight) + Aerovalance + World Gen Previewer (the title says all for that one) + JoostMod + Swords Overhaul Mod

Crystilium mod is good for co-op with other mods, but best is Spirit mod. These two can be very good in gameplay with Calamity, Tremor and Thorium.

I recommend starting with calamity, enjoying that, And using pretty much always these, Omni swing, alch npc lite, veinminer, fargo's mutant, recipe browser, magic storage extra, boss checklist, item checklist (very specific), brighter torches and if you suck at managing your accessory slots and are bad, use wingslot.
