Logic Gates: AND, OR, NOT n XOR, NAND, NOR. A gate is simply an electronic circuit which operates on one or more signals to produce an output signal. Gates are digital circuits because input and output signals are either on (denotes 1) or off (denotes 0). Gates are often called Logic circuits because they can be analyzed using Boolean algebra.
