Now, let’s look at an example of a simple logic model for a specific program. The situation is one in which there are high rates of child abuse and neglect. Our goal is to reduce those rates and improve the children’s welfare. We assess the situation and draw on knowledge and experience.

By mapping out the underlying assumptions and theories of change that drive a program, logic models help evaluators identify potential gaps, inconsistencies, and areas of improvement in program design and implementation.
