Despite being an "ultrawide" version of 1920×1080 (2K 16:9), calling it "2K ultrawide" is improper usage of the term 2K, as it is a 2.5K resolution, not 2K. 2560×1340 is listed as "2.5K Full Frame", it’s safe to say if 2560×1440 were included on the list it would be classified as a 2.5K resolution as well.

This picture is a great example of resolutions. 2560x1080 is a 21:9 aspect ratio, meaning for every 21 horizontal pixels, there are 9 vertical pixels. Also called 1080 ultrawide, 21:9 is considered ultrawide.

Jul 18, 2018 · There is no maximum resolution, just a maximum number of pixels per second, which varies completely by device, so there is no standardized maximum. VGA monitors from decades ago can handle 2304 × 1440 @ 80 Hz, so 2560 × 1440 @ 60 Hz is certainly within the capabilities of real-world devices.

Jan 8, 2023 · While here, 2k is a similar cinematic resolution of 2048x1080, but 2k is often used wrongly to refer to 2560x1440 or 1440p. Similarly 1440p usually refers to 2560x1440 and is a nice upgrade from 1080p, while remaining relatively easy to drive with a mid range GPU. May also be called QHD. Again there can be ultra-wide variations.

Mar 2, 2023 · First of all, "2K" is not the resolution you think it is. The only time you'd say "2K" is in reference to DCI 2K which is 2048x1080. The resolution you're thinking of is most likely 2560x1440 which is more correctly referred to as 1440p or WQHD. Monitor marketing departments are dead wrong.

Oct 18, 2018 · I guess that at this point, the main objective is just having a decent monitor compared to what I have compensating for the graphics settings depending on the games I would like to run. I'm pretty sure upgrading to a 2K (2560x1440) @144-165hz monitor would improve the quality even tho I'm playing mid to high settings. What do you think?

Jun 27, 2023 · You can one by one change the blurry apps scaling method and this can prevent the blur issue, but the apps will look very big if you got dual monitor setup and you move your apps from higher resolution to lower resolution monitor. Another way is always using 100% scaling. This is Windows 10 or 11 design issue.
