Logic gates are the fundamental components of digital circuits and systems, performing various logical operations. They are designed using electronic components like diodes, transistors, resistors, and capacitors. Logic gates use Boolean algebra to execute logical processes and are found in nearly every digital gadget we use, such as computers, smartphones, and memory devices1.
Types of Logic Gates
AND Gate
The AND gate performs logical multiplication of inputs. It generates a high (logic 1) output only when all inputs are high. Otherwise, the output is low (logic 0). The Boolean expression for a two-input AND gate is ( Z = A \cdot B )1.
