Waist Height No Ball: MCC Law 41.7.1 states that “any delivery that passes or would have passed, without pitching, beyond the waist height of the batter standing straight at the popping crease is an invalid delivery. The umpire shall call and indicate “No ball” whenever such a delivery is delivered.

As per the latest code of laws published by the MCC in the year 2017, Law 41.7 -Bowling of dangerous and unfair non-pitching deliveries, imposes penalties on a bowler who bowls a full toss over the batter’s waist, which are as follows: – A ball of any speed over waist height will be deemed to be a No ball and dangerous.

Waist height no ball rules in cricket According to MCC’s Law 41.7.1, “Any delivery, which passes or would have passed, without pitching, above waist height of the striker standing upright at the popping crease, is unfair. Whenever such a delivery is bowled, the umpire shall call and signal No ball”.

The umpire will declare no ball in cricket if a bowler bowls a full toss above the waist of the batter. Suppose a bowler bowls two waist high full tosses in a match, according to the ICC’s match clause 41, for unfair play.

A ball delivered with the wrong arm is a no-ball if the bowler has failed to notify the umpire before changing the bowling arm. The player must also notify the umpire about which side of the wicket he plans to bowl from. A full toss above waist height (beamer) will be considered a no-ball.
