Messmer has two big weaknesses you can exploit to take a sizable chunk out of his health bar: Bleed and Frostbite. The setup I used is one you can take advantage of without serious investment in one specific stat. You’ll need: An Ash of War that imbues a standard weapon with cold.

Messmer the Impaler is weak to attacks that apply Bleed and Frostbite. These dealt the most damage and procs the easiest when we tested each affinity using the same weapon against Messmer the Impaler.
