Flag ceremonies should be respectful and tailored to the Scouts participating. All Scout flag ceremonies should be solemn events, but they shouldn’t all be the same. For younger Cub Scouts, plan a flag ceremony that’s short and simple. For older Cub Scouts, add a few more lines.

With a flag ceremony, Cub Scouts show respect for the flag of the United States, which symbolizes our country and our democratic way of life. A flag ceremony is often used to open or close a Den/Pack meeting and as a part of any other ceremony. A Cub Scout flag ceremony should be simple, impressive, and meaningful to everyone involved.
