It will be rookie Jaren Hall, not journeyman Josh Dobbs, as the backup quarterback when the Vikings play the Bengals on Saturday afternoon in Cincinnati.

MINNEAPOLIS — The Minnesota Vikings have reportedly found their replacement — at least in the short-term — for departing quarterback Kirk Cousins in Sam Darnold.

The two other available quarterbacks are Joshua Dobbs, who arrived a few days ago after the Vikings pulled the trigger and traded for the passer, and veteran Sean Mannion on the practice squad. According to O’Connell, who talked to the media on Friday, Dobbs will function as Hall’s backup on Sunday.
