Click on “Deposit” from the menu button. Select “Deposit into Bank Account. Use your smartphone camera to take a picture of the front and back of the check. Make sure all the details on the paper are visible. Choose the account to make the deposit.

With the home version, you scan the front and back your check (after you endorse it with your signature and account number). Then you send the scanned photo and amount of the check and the USAA software verifies the information on the check and deposits it into your account.

Direct deposit can be set up online; log into your online banking account and navigate the Transfers tab. From there, you can add your USAA account as a recipient of funds. Next, you’ll need to specify how often you want the funds deposited (weekly, monthly) and what time frame (morning or evening).
