Edinburgh and Loch Lomond are the road race starting points for the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships, with riders finishing in central Glasgow. The 277.6 km men's event is on 6 August and begins at Arthur's Seat in the Scottish capital before heading west via Fife and Stirling. Once in Glasgow, the race features 10 laps of a city circuit.

The Junior road races will take place entirely in Glasgow. The Men Elite road race will start in the Scottish capital of Edinburgh, at the dormant volcano Arthur’s Seat, then progress through the city’s old town before heading to Glasgow and 10 laps of the final city circuit. In total, they will cover 277.6 km with 3,167 metres of climbing.

The men's road race on the first weekend will start at Holyrood Park in Edinburgh on a 271.1-kilometre (168.5-mile) route, heading towards Fife via the Queensferry Crossing.
