- Mark Felt (born August 17, 1913, Twin Falls, Idaho, U.S.—died December 18, 2008, Santa Rosa, California) was an American government official who served as the associate director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in the early 1970s and in 2005 captured public attention when he revealed in an interview with Vanity Fair magazine that he was “Deep Throat,” the anonymous informant at the centre of the Watergate scandal (1972–75).www.britannica.com/biography/Mark-Felt
