Primal applies to what is primary in the sense of initial, fundamental, or elemental or to what goes back to the origin or to the beginnings, especially of the human race. Primordial applies to what serves as the starting point in a course of development or growth or is the earliest in order or in formation.

Primordial can mean a couple of things. It can mean “having existed since the beginning” or “basic” or “fundamental.” Primal is actually derived from the word primitive, so they can mean the same thing! Think of them as synonyms. They are all adjectives used to describe a noun.
