When it comes to comparing Purple vs Nectar, the two mattresses offer a similar comfort level with their medium-firm ratings of 6.5. Both offer plenty of support to a wide variety of sleepers, however Purple’s unusual grid structure does give it a slight edge, and more users find this mattress to be supportive.

The Nectar mattress is a much softer memory foam bed than the Purple Original mattress. The Nectar is ideal for lightweight and average-weight side sleepers. While the Purple mattress includes a waffle-like proprietary grid as a comfort layer, the Nectar is a more traditional memory foam mattress.

Nectar relies on a more traditional memory foam comfort layer for all their mattresses while Purpe relies on their patented Purple Gel Pad. If you like the feel of memory foam, Nectar is a great option, with its only real setbacks being lower cooling performance, slow material response time, and low levels of bounce (less than ideal for sex).
