Each player is dealt a card until everyone has 13 cards in his hand. The lowest cut is the first to deal. The whole pack is dealt out clockwise, one card at a time, each placed face down. After the cards have been dealt, each player chooses three cards to pass to an opponent.

Each player chooses 3 cards to pass to another player. Cards are passed to the left on the first hand, to the right on the second hand, and across on the third hand, and no cards are passed on the fourth hand. This cycle then repeats itself until the end of the game.

The game starts by dealing 13 cards to each player. Players then choose 3 cards from this hand to pass to the person on their left. The person with the 2 of clubs leads on the first trick. Play is standard trick-taking* without trumps until the hand is gone.
