Wordle moved from its original web address to one run by the New York Times (NYT) last weekend and some players are not happy. Those still playing the daily word game on the original website - because they downloaded it or have not refreshed their browser - are getting different words to solve from the NYT version.

Wordle, which went viral in November 2021 after creator Josh Wardle made it available to the public, has been plagued recently by complaints that it has become “too hard” and “elitist”. The complaints began after the game was acquired by the New York Times (NYT) for an undisclosed seven-figure sum.
