    A stretch four is a power forward who can create offense outside the area of a normal power forward. Stretch refers to the player’s ability to expand the area used, making the opposing defense spread out further from their basket, and four is the number used to describe the power forward position.
    A stretch 4 refers to a power forward who possesses the ability to shoot the ball from long range, typically beyond the three-point line. Traditionally, power forwards were known for their strength, rebounding, and post play.
    The power forward is commonly known as either an enforcer or a stretch 4 (a big man who can shoot the 3). Their responsibilities lie in defending post players, being an offensive threat inside and outside, and cleaning up the glass with rebounds.
    Stretch 4 A power forward who is a good long-range shooter and makes a lot of 3-pointers. Because of this ability, they are said to be able to “stretch the floor”, which means they bring the defense’s power forward out of the paint leaving the lane open for easy layups.
