The Netherland Dwarf is the world’s smallest rabbit breed of all domestic rabbits. The Netherland Dwarf weighs about 1.1–2.5 pounds (0.50–1.13 kg). They have large heads with big eyes. Their faces are round and short which, combined with their small ears, gives them a rather “baby-ish” look.

While the Columbia Basin Pygmy is the smallest undomesticated breed of rabbit, the Netherland Dwarf is the smallest of the domestic rabbit breeds. Unlike pygmy rabbits, you can purchase and own a Netherland Dwarf bunny who on average weighs from 1.1 to 3.5 pounds.

Among domestic rabbits, the Netherland Dwarf is often cited as the smallest breed. The American Rabbit Breeders Association states that this breed’s maximum weight is 2 ½ pounds. There is a rare wild rabbit called the Columbia Basin Pygmy Rabbit which weighs less than one pound when fully grown!

The Netherland Dwarf is the smallest of the domestic rabbits. The American Rabbit Breeders Association (ARBA) [3][4] accepts a weight range of 1.1–3.5 lb (0.50–1.59 kg), but 2.5 lb (1.1 kg) is the maximum allowed by the British Rabbit Council (BRC). [5]
