    Sadiya is a town in Tinsukia district, Assam, India. It was the capital of the Chutia Kingdom, and later became part of the Ahom kingdom. The name Sadiya is derived from the word "So-Diya," which means "Corpse Burial". The Chutia dynasty ruled the region for around 300 years. The Chutia kingdom developed around Sadiya in present-day Assam and adjoining areas in Arunachal Pradesh.
