    From the NT occurrence, the Greek word carries the idea of provision that is made by forethought, in this case by a man, not God. However, if we apply this to God, it would be that God provided something for us specifically for our benefit. So the phrase “providentially hindered” would mean God, by His foresight, made us miss a worship service.
