  1. Pro Topline heads can have the following problems12:
    • If the heads are too big, the airspeed is too slow, and fuel droplets have a hard time staying in suspension.
    • If the heads are too small, the airspeed is too high, and the fuel droplets can get pulled out of suspension.
    • The heads are thicker than most on the market by 1/8 inch, so you may need to modify your brackets if you use them on a street car.
    • The valve guides may come tight and need to be checked.
    • Push rods on the intake side may hit the heads, so you need to grind some clearance or use .150 offset rockers and plates.
    • You also have to use ARP head bolts as a stock head bolts are not long enough for the proper 1/2 inch thread engagement.
    • There may be a difference in stem heights between heads.

    Too big and the airspeed is too slow. Fuel droplets have a hard time staying in suspension, booster signal is weak, etc. Too small and the airspeed is too high. In certain areas it can become "Sonic" and/or turbulent and the fuel droplets can literally get pulled OUT of suspension.....and the engine starves for air.
