As a standard symbol, you should also be able to copy and paste the 'pencil' symbol (or the HTML entity ✏) in your browser or on social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter. On many devices, you can use the shortcode :pencil2: to add the pencil emoji to your messages.

Open your text editor where you need to type the Pencil Symbols. Place your insertion pointer where you need the symbol. Press and hold down the Alt key. Whilst holding down the Alt key, type the Pencil Alt Code (9999 for Pencil, see other Pencil Symbol Alt codes in the table above). After typing the code, release the Alt key.
