In the episode’s final act, Oliver’s play reaches its dramatic conclusion as Loretta delivers a spirited performance. Meanwhile, Mabel follows Cliff to the rafters, where he hides for comfort after learning about Donna’s confession. However, Mabel deduces that Cliff was the one who pushed Ben down the elevator shaft, leading to the actor’s death.

Alice pretty much confesses to the murder, grabs the cake knife and attacks Mabel. But Charles jumps in the way and is stabbed by the art dealer in heroic fashion, collapsing to the floor after the impact. The gang hold down the murderous Alice and Howard faints on the spot.

The episode ends with Jane Lynch’s Sazz Pataki, Charles’ longtime stunt double, going up to Charles’ apartment in the dead of night. As she roams the room, a silenced bullet pierces the window and lands directly in Sazz’s chest. At first, the audience is fooled into thinking Charles was just murdered.
