Each other vs. one another. Some English usage authorities urge the use of each other when referring to two people and one another for more than two people. Yet there’s no logical reason for this guideline, and writers break it nearly as often as they follow it. In practice, the two phrases are interchangeable.

There is a camp of prescriptive linguists who insist that there is a difference. And that difference is: “Each other” should only be used to describe two individuals, while “one another” should only describe three or more.

Each other. , one another. We use each other and one another to show that each person in a group of two or more people does something to the others. There is very little difference between each other and one another and we can normally use them in the same places. Each other is more common than one another:
