Sep 26, 2023 · Hi all, Do you have any ideas how can I insert a CHECKBOX without developer tab in a cell on Excel Desktop app? I am using the Microsoft 365 version and when I launch the Excel app from there I couldn't find such an option. Any suggestions are welcome :) a possible workaround could be also an option if it's easy to use.

Nov 16, 2023 · I used some code to do it, and the code looks at the positioning of the check box and links it appropriately. However, sometimes the position of the checkbox is not precise and it gets linked to the wrong cell. Not sure how an entire row was missed. To do it manually, right-click on the checkbox, select Format Control, go to tab Control.

Nov 1, 2018 · You have to manage it with macros. You would use your Worksheet_Change sub to detect insertions and then use code similar to AddCheckBoxesRange to add the checkbox when appropriate. I can't figure out your logic for linked cells. In that table the cells linked to the checkboxes seem to have no pattern.

Oct 15, 2020 · After you link the checkbox, if you check the box the cell will be TRUE, and if you uncheck it, the cell will be FALSE. If you type TRUE or FALSE directly into the cell, it will also affect whether the box is checked. If you want to control the value of the checkbox by something other than direct user input, you need to use a macro.
