For starters, wrinkle your race number up a bit to help the number form to your body easier. Then, to properly pin the race number, push the pin through the number, then through the jersey, back through the jersey, and finally back through the number.

To pin on numbers, you should not use the provided holes. Instead, we want to “flat-pin” the number. Pull the jersey away from the rider’s body. Push the safety pin into the number and jersey. Once through the jersey, insert the pin about another 3⁄4 of an inch, then push the point out through the jersey and number.

How to pin race numbers 1. You need 7 pins. Start on the corners at the top of your pockets. Don't put a pin on the "tailing-side" of your number, so you don't catch wind. 2. Stick the pins through the number, then the jersey, then back through the number.

The most secure method of pinning is to push the pin through both number and jersey layers twice. Do not pin with only one end of the pin through the number and out through the jersey. If there are pre-punched holes in the race number, ignore those: do not pin through the race number holes. 3. Use at least 6 pins PER NUMBER.
