To get started, head over to the Google Custom Search Engine page and click the Create a custom search engine button. You’ll need a Google account for this – the search engine will be saved with your Google account. Enter a name and description for your search engine – these can be anything you like.

If none of the premade themes suit your site, you can customize each component of your search engine manually. Click Overview and scroll down to Look and Feel. Click on "All look and feel settings". Under Look and Feel, scroll down to Customize. Select the element you want to customize under "Search element", "Search result", and "Promotion"
