The first version of the Wordle logo was introduced in 2021 and featured a simple uppercase wordmark in black letters, set in a geometric sans-serif typeface, very similar to Arial. The characters in the inscription were placed at a slight distance from each other, making up a very stable and concrete image.

A green tile means the letter is in the correct spot. A yellow tile means the letter is in the word but in the wrong spot. A gray tile means the letter isn’t in the word at all. If you’re colorblind, don’t feel deterred – Wordle offers an option to turn on high contrast colors.
