While competitive basketball is carefully regulated, numerous variations of basketball have developed for casual play, including half court games, where only one basket is used, three-on-three games (usually half court) or other games where less than five players per team are used, and shooting games such as "H-O-R-S-E," where two or more individuals attempt to match each others shots at the basket.
