Adidas and Puma, two of the world's most powerful sporting brands, were founded by the Dassler brothers in Herzogenaurach, Germany, 60 years ago. Adolf and Rudolf Dassler, the brothers behind these iconic brands, had a tumultuous relationship that eventually led to the split of their company due to personal conflicts.

The two famous brothers named Adolf and Rudolf Dassler created two popular shoe brands named Adidas and Puma respectively, which became the most demanded shoe brands in the world.

Herzogenaurach is the hometown of the Dassler Brothers - Rudolph and Adolf - on the banks of the Arach river in the state of Bavaria, Germany. Little did they know that their rivalry would lead to the birth of two of the most iconic global brands in the world: Puma and Adidas.

Adolf went on to found Adidas and his older brother Rudolf followed through by launching Puma. Today, Adidas and Puma are the second and third largest sportswear manufacturers in the world, respectively; Nike is first.
