Married to the Pink Panther director and cowriter Blake Edwards, Andrews spent her time zigzagging between jobs and homes (she and Edwards had residences in Los Angeles and Gstaad, Switzerland); grappling with long, heartbreaking separations from her daughter Emma Walton Hamilton, who periodically spent time in New York with her father, Andrews’s first husband, set designer Tony Walton; and sorting out the complicated growing pains of a blended family.
