May 16, 2012 · Thanks for the quick response. We plan to visit the grand canyon for one day and then we will need a place to stay between grand canyon and mesa verde. I was thinking tuba city but wasnt sure. Then the next morning we will head out towards Colorado and spend time at 4 corners then at Mesa verde.

Since Kanab is only a few miles from three national parks (Bryce Canyon, Zion, Grand Canyon) and a whole bunch of state parks and national monuments (Lake Powell, Kodachrome Basin, Coral Pink Sand Dunes, Pipe Springs, Cedar Breaks, and the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument) we knew we were just starting a truly memorable fall roadtrip.

Mar 20, 2009 · The most efficient route from Seattle to the Grand Canyon also happens to be quite scenic, but will take at least 2½ days to drive, so plan on 3 if you want to stop at a few places en route. Has anyone out there ever made a comparable trek (basically I-40W from Memphis)? I'm looking for some good stops along I-40, especially through Oklahoma, Texas, and New Mexico. I've never seen NM, and I hear it's spectacular.

Driving at close to the speed limit, but allowing sufficient time to re-fuel your car and your bodies, rest, etc. you will need to be on the road a minimim of 62 hours.

Day 1 - to Durango, Day 2 - Mesa Verde and drive to Grand Canyon (5.75 hours to the south rim and 7.5 hours to the north rim), Day 3 - Grand Canyon, Day 4 - drive to Glenwood Springs, Day 5 - drive home. Jan 19, 2017 · St Louis to the Grand Canyon is about a 1500 mile trip. So driving 10 hours a day, around 500 miles, will be 3 days in each direction (before any other stops are filled in). Since this is a round trip, count on 6 of your 9 days taken up, just getting there and back. Not much, but you have time for some short stops, more like stretch breaks.
