Optional 2: Delete the ref. plane / extrusion you placed the fase-based family on (within the parent family). The nested face-based family won't need it anymore. /!\Important note: I'd reccommend to only deleting it if it causes you problems.

Mar 17, 2017 · In your case, your face-based family found its host (the wall), because the wall was part of the group - but it did not find its "elevation" relative to the project's Ref. Level, because the family itself contains no association to a Ref. Level. There is nothing for Revit to report.

Create sketch on a face, project geometry then create face based on that profile - repeat this many times, using the bend tool to connect edges where appropriate to complete the sheet metal design.

Apr 17, 2015 · About your question, you have to select the fist object, then right-click (and wait for the menu to pop-out) on the object that you want to select only the face, move the mouse on "face", then shift-click on the face and use the transform tool as asual. I tried it myself and works.

Jan 24, 2019 · once you have created your SPLIT FACE, if you want to go back and edit it, you select the whole area, then the FILTER icon becomes avail and then you select that. the dialog window opens and you will see a Check Box list of object types you have collected in your selection group. Un-check everything else NOT split face.
