Nov 8, 2016 · I am using Visio 2013 and have created a Gantt chart from the standard template. I would like the start and finish dates on the chart to display the date format {{MMM-yy}}. I go into Define Shape Data, change the Type to Date and the Format to {{MMM-yy}}. The date displayed is unchanged. Any ideas on how to update this?

Feb 4, 2017 · Activate the chart. Right click and Select Data. Choose Start and press Edit. Change the Series Values reference as required. OK. Same procedure for Duration. If you un-merge row 3 and 4, put your headings in B4:E4 and make B4:E24 an Excel Table the chart will automatically adjust in case of more tasks.

Dec 9, 2008 · I am looking to create a Gantt Chart. I know it can be done in Project but have heard that there are limitations and that Excel might be the better route. Not having created a Gantt chart before, I would like to know if anyone has done this. If so, what are the pros and cons for Project vs. Excel. Any information is greatly appreciated.

Apr 2, 2013 · What I want to display is a template timeline for an activity, so it should not contain specifiic date, rather it displays day1, day2, etc. I managed to do this by changing the label of the timeline. But, when I try to export/print it, I could never get it right. The gantt chart display doesn't start from day1, it starts from d-15.

Mar 29, 2018 · I'd like to show more of the detail in the first half by condensing the second half. That is, 2018 I'd like to show to the level of weeks (W1 - W52), whereas 2019 I want to show in a smaller portion of the chart as quarters (Q1 - Q4). This way when I print the chart on a single A3 page the more important 2018 tasks will present larger.
