Dwarf Hammerer. Dwarf Hammerers forms a Dwarf Kings personal bodyguard, chosen by the King himself. [4a] They are individuals from different units, and perhaps even clans, who have proven themselves in uncountable battles, showing not just great strength and deadly martial prowess, but also steadfast loyalty and a bold and courageous nature.

The hammerer is a noble who serves as the executioner of your fortress, possessing no room or furniture requirements. Normally, a dwarf that has committed a crime will be subject to justice at the hands of your sheriff (later, the captain of the guard), who will imprison the criminal in jail.

If a dwarf is arrested and sentenced for a rather serious crime, such as murder or being a vampire, then they will be sentenced to the Hammerer. The Hammerer will chain down the victim, and then deliver numerous strikes of the war hammer. This will most likely kill the dwarf. This, however, is not a death sentence.
