While I can’t roll my R’s, my director said I can growl into the mouthpiece, but it just isn’t coming out unless I’m playing a low Bb, and even then I can barely sustain it! Does anyone have any tips to quickly learn how to growl and keep sustaining those high notes??

Oct 11, 2019 · Olds Ambassador was a student model, but hot damn it plays well (with no air leaks and working slide). I've never seen an Ambassador with a "fluted" slide (not octagonal) but fluted was very common on the Olds Super model.

Mar 15, 2021 · Is it possible to teach myself trombone by books, internet, and songs? Or is the learning curve just to steep? It's much more worth it with a teacher of some kind. There are a lot of things that you can't diagnose yourself with trombone (unlike the visual instruments like piano).

Jul 10, 2023 · The big takeaway is that your Trombone is not pitched in Concert, it is pitched to the Fundamental Note, for a Tenor is Bb. You do, however, play your music in Concert Pitch. If you play in a British Brass Band, your music is in Treble Clef and it will be transposed to the same key as the Cornets.

Hi I’m going to be a junior this coming school year and I currently have a pretty good range on my trombone, but I feel like I might be slightly handicapped by my braces? Right now, I can hit a high B flat (B flat a few lines above the staff) pretty consistently and the high C above it on good days.
