Justin Portal Welby GCVO (born 6 January 1956) is a British Anglican bishop who, since 2013, has served as the 105th archbishop of Canterbury. Welby was previously the vicar of Southam in Warwickshire, and later served as Dean of Liverpool and Bishop of Durham.

The Lord Archbishop of Canterbury's full title is The Most Rev. and the Rt Hon. the Lord Archbishop of Canterbury GCVO. His name is Justin Portal Welby, and he is a current member of the House of Lords.

The Archbishop of Canterbury is a senior member of the House of Lords, the second chamber of the United Kingdom Parliament. He sits as one of the 26 bishops of the Church of England, who are known as the Lords Spiritual. The bishops are all independent members, and each speaks and votes on matters of particular interest or concern to them.
