The modern Minnesota Timberwolves logo is a tribute to the club’s historical heritage. For many years in a row, a wolf has been at the center of the composition. But this time, it is not growling but solemnly howling, throwing its head back.

The Minnesota Timberwolves' wordmark logo used from 2008 to 2017. In their inaugural season in 1989, the Timberwolves (or "Wolves" as it said on their jerseys) debuted blue road uniforms with green lettering and numbers with white. Their home uniforms featured blue lettering and numbers with green outlining.

From the North Star in the logo to the entire color palette, the logo is a nod to what makes the state great. It also reminisces to the past, while looking ahead to what’s to come. For Richardson, working with the Wolves was a different challenge than some of his previous endeavors.
