Select Start > Settings > Personalization. The preview window gives you a sneak peek of your changes as you make them. In Personalize your background, you can select a picture, a solid color, or a slideshow of pictures you create. Or you can choose Windows spotlight to see a new image from around the world every day.

Press Windows + I to open Settings. In the Settings window, choose Personalization on the left, then Background on the right. Select the Personalize Your Background dropdown, and then choose Solid Color. Choose a color from the preset palette or select the View Colors button to use a custom color picker.

To apply a solid color on the Windows 11 desktop, use these steps: Open Settings. Click on Personalization. Click the Background page on the right side.
