Jul 3, 2010 · To display the pound sign (£) on a non UK keyboard you can use a simple shortcut which uses the number pad on the right of your keyboard. This works in any writing program, you press and hold the Alt button and press 0 then 1 then 6 then the 3, when you let go of the Alt button you should get the £ sign wherever the cursor is flashing.

Jul 26, 2012 · Just a thought. I hope your system is password protected. Choose passwords with care if for instance you use the recovery Console (advanced optional feature on XP but a life saver sometimes) make sure it has a password you can type from the keyboard, and take care with the characters use; maybe do not include a British Pound sign.
