Mystic Falls Police Station is the local police force located in Mystic Falls. The police station was ran by the former local sheriff, Elizabeth Forbes, who was also part of the Founder's Council. Most of the deputies, if not all, knew about vampires and worked in conjunction with the Council.

But in reality, Mystic Falls is located in Covington, Georgia and it’s the most epic place to be if you’re a fan of TVDU (The Vampire Diaries Universe). This picture with Ian Somerhalder is one of my favorites because, well…of course!

While Mystic Falls isn't a real town, you can actually visit the town the show was shot in. In real life, Mystic Falls is actually Covington, Georgia. Covington is a part of the Atlanta metropolitan area — just 35-miles east of Atlanta — and its population is slightly over 14,000.

Aside from the town's foundation in 1860 by the Founding Families, the town also has a long history of vampires, witches and werewolves, causing Mystic Falls to be an uncanny village with a dark secret. Many famous historical occurrences have taken place in Mystic Falls.

Turns out it’s not in Virginia! Mystic Falls is located in Covington Georgia and isn’t an actual town – Covington is just the set mostlyused for the Vampire Diaries. You’ll see many of the iconic Mystic Falls town landmarks in Covington. Covingtonis a city in the central region of Georgia, specifically in Newton County.
