The UK Local Information Pack is the set of documents that NHS/HSC organisations use to formally start preparing to deliver the study. More information is given in the Local Information pack section of IRAS help, but there are some key features listed below.

As part of the process to make the researcher experience of study set up the same across the UK, implementation of a UK Local Information Pack (LIP) will commence on 5 June 2019. The LIP is a group of documents to be provided to NHS organisations to set up research studies.

The UK Local Information Pack is the UK-wide mechanism for setting up participating NHS/HSC organisations. It is used for all studies with participating NHS/HSC organisations.

On 5 June 2019, the ‘UK Local Information Pack’ fully implemented as the UK-wide mechanism for setting up participating NHS/HSC organisations. It provides a consistent package to support study set-up and delivery across the UK and should be used for all studies with participating NHS/HSC organisations from this date.
