Glasgow co-hosted the European Championships in 2018 The 2023 Cycling World Championships will take place between 3 and 13 August in Glasgow and across Scotland. The inaugural 11-day event will include 13 different cycling disciplines across road, track, BMX and mountain biking events, as well as Para-cycling.

The 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships will bring together 13 existing UCI World Championships into a new mega event in Glasgow and across Scotland from 3 to 13 August. It will see more than 8,000 cyclists and para-cyclists from over 120 countries taking part.

Edinburgh and Loch Lomond are the road race starting points for the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships, with riders finishing in central Glasgow. The 277.6 km men's event is on 6 August and begins at Arthur's Seat in the Scottish capital before heading west via Fife and Stirling. Once in Glasgow, the race features 10 laps of a city circuit.
