The act of giving communion involves the sharing of bread and wine, which are imbued with profound spiritual significance. The communion service is a time of reflection, gratitude, and spiritual connection for Christians around the world.

The laity exercise their priestly role by offering themselves as a sacrifice to God in union with Jesus Christ. Just as the priest offers the Holy Sacrifice for a particular intention, we, too, can offer it for a personal intention. To do so is to apply the infinite, redeeming Blood of Jesus Christ to a particular person or cause.

Communion, also known as the Lord’s Supper or Eucharist, is Christ’s gift to the church. Communion is a means by which Christ continually nourishes, strengthens, and comforts us. It is one of two sacraments in the Reformed tradition.
