Seventeen-year-old American cyclist Magnus White, who was scheduled to race at the upcoming world championships in Scotland, was killed Saturday when he was struck by a vehicle on a training ride near his home in Boulder, Colorado. USA Cycling announced his death in a statement Sunday.

United States National Team cyclist Magnus White, 17, died in a training accident Sunday, USA Cycling announced. White was struck by a Toyota Matrix driven by a 23-year-old Westminster woman near the intersection of US Highway 119 and North 63rd Street in Boulder, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
