Zero-point perspective is a type of linear perspective. All of types of linear perspectives include a horizon line and a stationary point (the position of the observer). In zero-point perspective, no vanishing points exist; as a result, the image contains no depth.

Zero point perspective, also known as atmospheric perspective, is a method used to create the illusion of depth in a two-dimensional artwork. It involves decreasing the contrast, detail, and sharpness of objects as they recede into the background, giving the impression of distance and atmospheric haze.

Basically, zero-point perspective is just a fancy way of describing a natural scene such as a mountain range or a landscape of hills and valleys–a non-linear scene in which there are no parallel lines appearing to meet off in the distance somewhere. Therefore, there are no vanishing points, which is where this kind of perspective gets its name.

It does not have any parallel lines fading at the vanishing points, hence, the name zero-point perspective. This type of perspective is used in a nonlinear scene, where there are no parallel lines meeting at a distant point; for example, in landscape drawings like valleys, mountain ranges, etc.
