I leave Onedrive sync on at all times but my goal is to free up some space on the small SSD installed in my computer. In the past when I have deleted files from the PC it also deletes it from Onedrive cloud. Thank you.

Jul 27, 2021 · The "restore" option will restore those files to your system too while "remove" will remove it from onedrive cloud too. A better option if you want to keep most files online would be to turn on "file on demand" in onedrive settings. So use the "restore" option and then turn on "file on demand" from onedrive settings.
