    1. Open Microsoft PowerPoint.
    2. Head to the "Insert" tab and then click "SmartArt."
    3. In the Choose a SmartArt Graphic window that opens choose the "Hierarchy" category on the left.
    4. On the right, click an organization chart layout, such as "Organization Chart."
    5. Fill the sections with text and add shapes, boxes, and connectors.
    6. Rearrange the elements and place arrows as needed.
    7. Choose a readable font and color-code elements.
    8. Put icons from our free media library.
    9. Use the Draw tool for custom sketches.
