Bred as sled dogs, huskies are strong and have almost endless supplies of energy. Their upper body and leg muscles enable them to pull pound-for-pound better than any other dog.

In fact, one Husky can pull 85 lbs or the weight of half an average-sized human – that’s usually over 2x their weight! In addition, they can run at a pace of 10-14 mph over long distances and 20 mph over short distances. It’s even been said that sled dogs can travel over 90 miles in 24 hours while pulling 85 lb each.

The Siberian Husky, a thickly coated, compact sled dog of medium size and great endurance, was developed to work in packs, pulling light loads at moderate speeds over vast frozen expanses.
